Amaury Leroy is a structural engineer (MSc degree in Civil Engineering from the “Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles”) living in Brussels, Belgium. He joined the "Bureau Greisch" in 2009 and currently heads the building department in Brussels.

Passionate about complex projects, he has developed a strong expertise in the structural design of tall buildings and participates in the development of several projects in Belgium and worldwide.Its work is driven by a systematic search for innovative and most appropriate solutions. He notably participated in the design of the Silver Tower in Brussels and the development of the "Adaptive Outriggers" from the first sketches to their realization.

In 2008 Arabella became an architect and during 10 years she worked in The Netherlands, on several projects with different scales and challenges.

Thereafter in 2018 she started as one of the project architects for the project Kanal, Brussels. With this international team she is working on the transformation of the ’30 Citroën Garage in a public, cultural building complex for Brussels.

In the last 6 years her focus was the renovation and reuse of the existing structure and shell of the old garage, starting from the different qualities the building already has to offer, but also implementing the changes needed to serve the new, future program of the building. Different scenario’s were studied with a multi-disciplinary team and today the contractors are translating it into a built reality.

She still believes that an optimistic imagination can move something in the process of (re)building spaces, appreciating change while learning from the past. Something she also enjoys to share with the students of the master Architecture Academy Maastricht.

Bob graduated as an engineer at KU Leuven. After gaining expertise at several architectural companies, he started at Jaspers-Eyers in 2021. His main project is ZIN, the reconversion of the former WTC towers in Brussels.

In his free time, Bob loves spending time with his wife An-Sofie and his son Ilias. To clear his mind, he turns to swimming, tennis, cycling and cooking.

Upon completing his studies as an engineer and in business economics, Bram began his professional career with a general contractor. In 2004, he started his façade experience by joining Belgo Metal, first part of Parmasteelisa later part of Kyotec, as a project manager, overseeing projects in France and Belgium. For example, the Engie building in Brussels, MG Tower (KBC) in Ghent, Athena tower in La Défense (Paris), Bouygues Telecom tower (Paris). After the bankruptcy of Belgo Metal in 2015, he worked for Groven+ as a project director. In 2021 he joined Kyotec again as a managing director for the Belgian Branch.

Diter BRAET grew up in Ghent in a family where his grandfather, uncles and cousins were/are architects. He decided to become a civil engineer, believing that technology should serve aesthetics. He graduated from the school CHEC in Paris in 2005 and joined the Belgian steel construction company VBSC the same year. After a few years, he returned to Paris to set up VBSC's Paris office. He worked on major projects alongside internationally and nationally renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid, Calatrava, KPF, Marc Mimram.

In 2016 he joined Arcora as deputy director, building on his first managerial experience. Arcora is a design office specialising in building envelope technology, combining structural and facade design. Arcora aims to raise awareness and stimulate change in construction methods as early as possible in the design process and has developed the software ecale.io which is in opensource. Together with his team of façade experts, Diter collaborated on the design & execution of the following projects : Philharmonie de Paris (AJN), Exhibition & Convention Center MEET in Toulouse (OMA), Geneva AirPort Aile-Est (RSHP), HQ Arcelor in Luxembourg (W&A), HQ CFL in Luxembourg (Metaform).

Edwin Remmerie is Design and Operational lead at Binst Architects, and has worked in the office since 2005. Working closely together with founder and CEO Luc Binst, he is responsible for managing the office and supervising the Design Phase of every project. He is also Head of International Development, supervising both the first Binst Architects US project in Miami, as well as leading the international expansion plans in the US and the Middle East.

He has lead several high-profile projects and competitions for Binst Architects, and collaborated with Snøhetta, KAAN architecten, and Baumschlager-Eberle architecten. Key projects include Rose@Wynwood in Miami, the 70 000m² transformation of Centre Monnaie to oXy, the Lakeside development at Tour&Taxis, both in Brussels, as well as the Binst Architects Headquarters in Antwerp.

Edwin holds a Master Degree in Engineering and Architecture from KU Leuven university, as well as a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Antwerp Management School.

Eric Claeys holds a degree as Civil Engineer in Construction from KU Leuven, Belgium, a degree in Industrial Engineering in Public Works from KU Leuven, Belgium, and graduated with a Master in Business Administration from the Vlerick Business School, Belgium. Eric has 40 years of experience in façade technologies and consulting and was involved in hundreds of prestigious projects by the most famous architects in more than 30 countries worldwide. Since the very beginning, value engineering has been his driving force, along with the belief that “ It always seems impossible until it’s done”. Out-of-the-box thinking is not just in his DNA; it is his DNA.

Eric is the inventor of “hybrid” curtain wall systems, an innovative combination of stick and unitized CW systems. The technologies are covered by an extensive patent portfolio in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Erwin is a structural designer with an integral mindset and passion for glass.

With his creativity, significant technical knowledge and experience in complex glazed structures, he has worked on some of the most cutting edge glass designs in Europe, Mid-East and Asia, like the Dubai Eye and Crystal Houses Amsterdam (MVRDV’s ‘Chanel store’)

His motivation is innovation and giving meaning to beauty. In the current era, innovation mainly means using our materials sustainably for the next 50 years, and beauty has impact on well-being of humans.

Erwin works at ABT, is ambassador for the innovation company Quake, is Visiting Lecturer for the Universities of Delft and Darmstadt and he serves on the Dutch standards committee for glass. Many students graduated on Master Thesis topics that came from him. 

Etienne Clinquart graduated as Civil Engineer in Construction from the University of Ghent , Belgium, in 1983. 

He has more than 34 years of experience in façade technologies . 

He started in the company Groven in 1990 and created Groven+ in 1998 . He has been 9 years the president of the Fac (Belgium federation of aluminium facade companies) He stopped as CEO of Groven+ in June 2024 and continues today as Consultant  trying to help designers and investors in the development of their projects , based on his long practical experience in the facade business 

As engineer Etienne has a passion for the high tech facades including al modern technologies and trends in  sustainability 

Eva is an engineer specializing in exterior and interior joinery, façades, and roof cladding. With over two decades of experience at SECO, she has developed expertise in cladding, joinery, glazing, renovation, and many other areas. Eva is well-versed in Belgian standards and has extensive experience in both study and site inspections. She has participated in numerous prestigious projects in Belgium and international projects such as the Complex Ferrari in Abu Dhabi and the Princess Elisabeth Station in Antarctica. Currently, she is researching sustainable renovation of existing façades while preserving or recycling various elements. Eva also actively participates in various Eurocode and standard committees.

Nearly 10 years ago Joep joined Schüco International, one of the leading international suppliers of high-quality window, door and façade systems. With a master´s degree in Architecture and nearly 20 years experience in the construction industry Joep is now leading the Schüco Benelux Team for Service-, Product- and Marketing-Management.

Joep leads his team with ´customer centricity´ as their main driver across Service-, Product-, and Marketing- Management. Every aspect of daily business prioritizes the customer, ensuring that market feedback is key in their approach. Joost is a director and partner at archipelago architects. As the manager of the archipelago R&I team, he coordinates research projects and overlooks archipelago's integrated sustainability approach. His expertise ranges from climate responsive design to simulation-driven performance-based design and circular building. Currently Joost is involved in the interregional GRO sustainability framework and the EU Horizon Caring Nature research project. He is also an Accredited Professional in both BREEAM and WELL and an accredited EPB reporter.

After graduating as an Architect from the Madrid Technical School of Architecture at Polytechnic University(ETSAM-UPM), he has developed his career for more than 20 years in different companies in technical and commercial roles in relation to the design, sales  and execution of building envelopes and dry construction systems.

At Cosentino he has been product manager for almost 5 years developing the versatility and high performance of Dekton as a sustainable architectural surface in a wide variety of façade systems. Currently he is quality responsible for façades application and project support on-site.

Professional passionate about construction and quality of design and execution of the details as a guarantee of the correct and dignified aging of buildings.

Kenny Martens is 33 years old and lives in Zwevezele, Belgium.

He has a master’s degree in civil engineering – structural design and received his Ph.D. on structural glass beam systems at Ghent University in 2018. Following his graduation, Kenny founded vitroplena, a project, expertise and engineering office for architectural glazing and structural glass projects of which he is managing director up to today. Vitroplena handles classic glazing projects such as balustrades and façades, as well as high-end unique projects such as glass bridges, swimming pools, 3D glass pavilions, etc.

Maaike Berckmoes graduated as a civil engineer architect from Ghent University in 1994, after which she worked for several years in various architectural firms in Belgium and Italy. After this, she worked for more than 15 years as a Building Physics and R&D engineer at several renowned facade contractors (Belgo Metal, Scheldebouw, Permasteelisa). She contributed to the development of new facade types and the engineering of advanced facade solutions for large-scale, complex high-rise projects (Dexia Toren Bxl, Renovatie Atomium, Cours de Justices Lux, the Shard UK, Leadenhall UK, 200 George Street Sydney, etc.).

In 2013 she started the Façade Engineering department at VK architects+engineers, offering technical facade advice to developers, architects and contractors for all facade systems, from design to execution phase. Using a multidisciplinary approach, VK Façade Engineering offers innovative and integrated facade solutions, based on broad academic and practical knowledge of advanced facade technology and the facade industry. Together with her team of façade experts, she collaborated on the design & execution of the following projects: Möbius towers (Brussels); Infinity (Lux.), ZIN (Brussels), Boerentoren (Antwerp), OXY (Brussels)

Mark Vorsselmans is the Managing Director of Vorsselmans NV, a leading family-owned company specializing in aluminium windows, doors, and façades. For 50 years, they have been designing complex façade constructions at the highest level. In 1992, Mark joined the company as the successor to his father—founder Stan Vorsselmans—and focused strongly on professionalization and diversification. Under his leadership, Vorsselmans also entered the solar panel market in 2007 with the establishment of Vorsselmans Solar and expanded into the UK market through the founding of VGV Façades in London in 2015. Today, Vorsselmans employs 180 staff members and is a recognized player in the industry.

In addition to his daily management role at Vorsselmans, Mark is also active as a Director and co-founder of FAC (Federation of Aluminum Constructors), an industry organization that aims to support and enhance the growth opportunities for aluminum constructors in Belgium through collaboration in a challenging market.

Niels manages complex projects, mainly involving studies for building services for buildings of various typology and scale. He shows a great affinity for a sustainable approach in the broadest sense of the word.

Always in direct contact with the design partners and client, Niels follows up the projects from preliminary and final design to implementation and delivery. In this way, he ensures continuity in the project process, smooth communication between all parties involved, and an optimal match between the wishes and needs of the client and end users, and the design solutions of the VK expert team.

Raf became an architect at Sint-Lucas in 1995. In 2012, Raf became a BB'er. During his tenure as BB'er, he emerged as façade consultant and building detail expert and, together with some colleagues, founded Team Knowledge Innovation & Technology, the technical conscience of BB. Raf is also practice assistant Architectural Design and Building Detail at UGent and sits on several committees of Buildwise.

Raf thrives best when he can work with enthusiastic and sympathetic professionals, both inside and outside Bureau Bouwtechniek. His heart beats faster with technical challenges that contribute to a more sustainable future, more robust constructions and a better quality of life. He believes in reassessing existing structures and always looks for the best solutions for the most relevant criteria. He goes completely loco when his advice has given a colleague or client an aha moment.

Raimond J.F Starmans is since the end of 2019 the Country Director for Germany and The Benelux Countries for Saint-Gobain’s SageGlass, based in the Euregio in The Netherlands. Along with his Sales and Technical Support team he is a big promotor of sustainable dynamic EC glass solutions.

Raimond has more than 30 years’ work experience in the Global Architectural Glass industry collaborating with architects, consultants, main contractors, applicators and fabricators in major projects such as the renovation of Empire State Building New York USA, Shenzhen Sports Stadiums and Guangzhou Tower in China, Burj al Khalifa UAE, renovation Council Chamber Johannesburg South Africa etc. 

During his career he has been holding several roles in Global Sales, Specification, Technical Support, Key Account- and Marketing management, becoming a trusted solution provider in the construction industry, with global reach.

Ruben Van Vooren is a PhD researcher at the department of Architectural Engineering at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. His research is supervised by prof. Waldo Galle and prof. Niels De Temmerman and is a collaboration with Bureau Bouwtechniek (BB), a Belgian technical design firm. Trained as an architectural engineer (Ghent University, 2017), he worked as an architect at DAM architecten and conducted technical audits and feasibility studies at BB. In his research, he aims to redirect redevelopment projects of office buildings towards value retention options (preserve, reuse, refurbish, remanufacture and repurpose) of façade products. In search of practical levers such as new roles, tasks or collaborations, he combines a focus on the value-network of the façade industry and decision-making processes in façade renovation projects.

With years of experience within site teams and several Class 8 construction companies,Sara is well established in managing people and large construction projects. Since 2018,she holds the position of Operational Director at Van Laere, where she leads withinprestigious projects such as Tour & Taxis and the groundbreaking ZIN Project in Brussels.Sara is convinced of the need to build differently, and is determined to help accelerate thetransition to sustainable construction projects. She works and lives by the motto ‘There is noplanet B’ and prefers to integrate this vision in all her projects. Through her leading rolewithin the ZIN Project, she likes to inspire others to help build a sustainable future for futuregenerations.

After obtaining a master’s in civil engineering and architecture (UGent), Simon Claeys followed a European management program (MBA) and a postgraduate course in renovation techniques and monument conservation (HoWest). He has participated in numerous prestigious projects, both in Belgium and Central Africa. In 2019, Claeys joined B2Ai where he manages innovative and programmatic complex-mixed projects.

B2Ai stands for a multidisciplinary team of 150 architects, structural and technical engineers, interior designers, and urban planners, based in Brussels, Ghent, and Roeselare, working to build a sustainable future with a particular focus on people and the environment. The agency has built up extensive know-how and its references include centres for healthcare, sports and culture, schools, offices, as well as commercial, residential, and urban planning projects across Belgium and abroad.

Stefaan van Acker, a multifaceted Project Architect at Jaspers-Eyers, has woven his passion for architecture into a remarkable journey which started with a childhood fascination with the fusion of artistry and functionality. Graduating from Sint-Lukas in Ghent and later pursuing a master's degree at MIT in the US, he honed his skills while working with Bruce Graham at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Stefaan's career path led him back to Jaspers-Eyers, where he embraced projects like the MG Tower. His approach centers on architectural integration, where buildings harmonize with their environments and users are engaged in transformative spaces. Stefaan's architectural ethos aligns with his role as a member of the Royal Commission on Monuments and Sites in Brussels and as a BREEAM Accredited Professional, reflecting his commitment to sustainable design.

Beyond his professional achievements, Stefaan values teamwork, diversity, and a mastery of building craft. With almost three decades of experience, he remains a dedicated advocate for embracing challenges and finding inspiration in every facet of his journey.

Stéphanie Mangé (Master in Civil Engineering and Architecture, University in Ghent, 2002) specialized over the years to become a technical designer and expert in facade engineering.

In 2016, she founded “Gevelinzicht” in Antwerp together with 2 co-partners. Today she is leading a team with experts in facade design, building physics and durability, energy management of buildings and complex facade renovation projects. Smart and sustainable building and cross-pollination through collaborations are the driving forces.

After her studies as an Architectural Engineer (KULeuven) and Master in Spatial Planning and Urban Development (Antwerp), Trees Verhoogen first worked for 10 years as a Building Project Manager for both the Province of Flemish Brabant and the Flemish government.

At the Flemish government, Trees was responsible for, among other things, the controversial Herman Teirlinck building at Tour & Taxis.

The site was more than just a workplace for her and in 2018 Trees made the switch to the owner of the site, Nextensa, for which she works as a project manager and sustainability manager and, among other things, contributed to the multi-award-winning redevelopment of Gare Maritime.

Wim Plaum is a seasoned construction engineer with over 25 years of experience in project and property management. He graduated in 1994 with a focus on sustainable materials. After starting his career as a junior project manager at Starke Diekstra, he moved to Cofimmo in 2000, where he advanced to Senior Project Manager, overseeing major real estate projects including nursing homes, student housing, and office renovations. Since 2019, Wim has been Project Director at Befimmo, leading internal teams and managing high-profile projects such as ZIN.
